Bladez Barbers NZ Ltd officially opened in 2012. The story of Bladez Barbers NZ predates its inception and started with the dream of a young man wishing to own and operate his own barbershop. Like majority of barbers these days, Fatu Toleafoa started his barbering career cutting family and friends from a garage. After cutting at a various barbershops, Fatu came into contact with Joe Tongi and served a number of years at West Coast barbers. Fatu went on to start Suede 101 which eventually dissolved. With a spiritual faith and the support of his young family, Fatu went on to fulfil a lifelong dream and opened Bladez Barbers. After fulfilling his lifelong dream, Fatu pursued greater opportunities abroad and is looking to open another barbershop in Brisbane, Australia.
A separate entity Bladez Barbers NZ Ltd was formed after Fatu’s departure, but his legacy and dream continues to provide inspiration for the current barbers and management.

John Unu: Barber
The father of two is a skilled cutter who served an apprenticeship under a fellow barbershop. Since then he has established himself as an incredibly gifted barber and continues to grow from strength to strength. Having acquired a large set of skills John is able to cut it with the best in the business. A Bay Roskill native and talented rugby player, John never fails to make customers laugh but more importantly delivers outstanding quality service and cuts.
Lomia Lomi: Barber
Lomia Lomi has being cutting for several years. After gaining experience cutting family members and friends, Lomia undertook study at Mr Barber School and graduated in 2012. Lomia has worked in other barbershops and has acquired an extensive range of skills. He has established himself as a premier barber who is extremely skilled in a wide variety of cuts. He is an avid league fan but is continuing to push the limits with his haircutting skills.
